Nagasaki Kunchi is characterized by the fact that the dances and floats dedicated to the festival change every year. The 58 Odoricho in Nagasaki City are divided into seven groups, and the duty of presenting the dedication dance rotates once every seven years. Dedication dances include Ryuodori, Whale Squirt, Kokkodesho, etc., and are designated as nationally important intangible folk cultural assets.
