No matter what you do,
If you forsake ideas of excess and inexhaustibility
The Creator of Things will be unable to scorn you,
And the gods and spirits will be unable to do you
harm.
If you invariably seek satisfaction in your own
undertakings,
Or habitually seek for your own efforts to be fulfilled,
If some calamity does not occur internally,
You will surely invite sorrow from without.

れば、どうなるか。内から足を引っぱられるか、
外から切り崩されるかして、いずれにしても失敗
を免れない。
●利益を追求するにしても八分にとどめて
二分は人のためにとっておく、という考え方だ。
