You know the danger of climbing to a high status.
After you have been in shadow and darkness,
You know the great exposure of facing the light and
clear.
After you have abided in inactivity,
You know the overexertion of those who love activity.
After you have cultivated yourself with silence,
You know the confusion of an abundance of words.

「立場を変えて見れば」
低い地位にいれば、高い地位についている者の

じっと静かにしていれば、動き回ている人間の空し
さがわかってくる。沈黙を守っていれば、多弁な人
物の騒がしさが見えてくる。
●これもまた一面の真理である。恵まれた立場の
者は、みずからの地位の危なっかしさを、よく自覚
してかかることが望まれるのである。
